Q1: What services will be provided?
NHG 1 - Health will provide specialist clinics and day surgery services. For a start we will be providing clinics for urology, general surgery, orthopaedics, ENT and opthalmology services. In addition to this, we will be running an endoscopy suite and day surgery theatre to complement our clinics. There will also be an in house diagnostics centre with X –ray facilities.
Our specialists will be clinicians from TTSH, with allied health professionals from TTSH.
Q2: Which organisation owns and runs NHG 1 - Health?
NHG 1 - Health is owned by the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and supported by Tan Tock Seng Hospital specialists.
Q3: Does NHG 1 - Health provide both subsidised and non-subsidised services?
NHG 1 - Health will provide non subsidised services only at this stage. Subsidised patients can still be referred to the parent hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Q4: What happens to me once I’m discharged from NHG 1-Health?
One of the main objectives of setting up such a centre is to ensure that patients are managed in the right place (right siting of care) and at the right price (affordability). Patients referred from our GP partners will be discharged back to the GPs once they are deemed stable. For patients without a referral, efforts will be made to ensure that every suitable patient will have an anchor primary care physician, which should be a GP of the patient's choice. Once that has been established, the healthcare professionals within NHG 1 - Health will work with the GP to ensure continuity of care.
Q5: Can I have my X-rays done at NHG 1-Health?
Yes, radiology services are available at NHG 1 - Health. The centre is managed by NHG Diagnostics, a business division of NHG, which manages 16 other satellite centres. Current radiology services being slated will be limited to X-ray for the time being.
Q6: Would the charges for endoscopy / day surgery services be equivalent to that of the hospitals’ rates?
NHG 1 - Health endoscopy as well as DSOT charges will be comparable to TTSH private rates. A range of reasonably priced surgical packages have also be introduced to meet the needs of our patients.

Pre and Post Surgery Follow-up
To facilitate a holistic surgical experience, our nurse will contact you prior to and after your operation. Before your arrival, your appointment will be reconfirmed and you will be advised on the pre-procedure preparations e.g. fasting times.
