 Nasoendoscopy

What is it?

A nasoendoscopy is an investigation performed using a nasoendoscope. The nasoendoscope is a long flexible tube with a bright light at the end. It allows your doctor to look at the nasal passages, larynx, pharynx (throat) and other surrounding structures.

What to expect

This procedure is done with you sitting in a comfortable chair with a head support. An anesthetic spray or liquid will be applied to your throat area.

After the area is numb, your doctor will thread the endoscope into a nostril and through the nasal passages as far as the vocal cords in the throat. Your doctor will observe the internal structures as the endoscope is introduced and withdrawn.
